Grampa Was Repulsed by Tap Water
…I think I figured out why.

During the last couple years of my grandfather’s life, we knew he didn’t have much longer to go based on his signs of decline, but wanted to make sure he had the highest quality of life possible.

One of the pestering symptoms he was challenged with was on-going nausea. It wasn’t severe enough to cause serious health issues, but was enough of a concern that we knew he wasn’t always getting enough nutrition, nor enough water.

The nutrition part was manageable; he was always interested in certain foods, and it was enough to sustain him and live as normal a life as anyone over 90 can.

But the hydration issue was a different matter.

He lived in a nice trailer park down in the southern part of New York. I’d enjoy the drives to see him as they were always very scenic, and I enjoyed exploring the various radio stations one comes across as they travel across rural areas.

Every time we’d visit, we’d always razz him about making sure he drank enough water.

He’d resist going to the kitchen faucet for as long as he could. Then after being virtually yelled at, he’d get up begrudgingly, turn the tap on, fill a tall glass only half way if we were lucky, and force down the water, finishing with an angry “BLAAAAGHHH” directed at all of us about how disgusting he thought the water was.

He absolutely HATED drinking water. And when he was alone with me or siblings, he’d quietly confide in us just that.

None of the rest of my family (90% anyway) are into alternative health. Had it been MY choice, he’d have been drinking filtered spring water; getting rid of the microplastics, etc.

I never forgot how much he hated that dang water.

And I began to realize after he’d passed exactly why that likely was:

I’m speculating, but I’d almost guarantee, his body, especially at the point where it was declining and needed only the best for it, KNEW that the fluoridated/chlorinated and who-knows-what-else-from-the-rural-pipes was not in its (his body) best interest.

So his body was rejecting it, just as it should.

Because since I started filtering my spring water, with the focus on the inflammation-causing-and-who-knows-what-else microplastics, I’m telling you, beyond any doubt, I AM DRINKING MORE WATER.

It was not a conscious decision. My body was genuinely craving more water, and there wasn’t anything…change of seasons, activity level, dietary salt intake, etc…that could’ve been causing it.

The desire for clean water was always there, my body recognized the difference, and the cravings naturally kicked in.

The filter I use to clean my spring water is found HERE.

He was the last of my grandparents to pass on.  Although we saw our grandparents only several times a year, they were always very welcome visits and I do miss them, and that generation a great deal.
